Sedimentary rocks are rocks formed as a result of the fragmentation, sedimentation and consolidation of sand, rocks and sediments resulting from weathering and erosion. These rocks appear in the form of successive layers on top of each other. Sediments are transported by water, wind, ice, and glaciers, which are called erosion agents. Sedimentation can also occur due to the precipitation of minerals from the water solution or the shells of aquatic creatures that settle from the suspension.
