There were 9 colonies in New England
1- Bobham Colony: Established in 1607 and abandoned in 1608.
2- Belmouth Colony: Established in 1620 and merged with the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1691.
3- Maine County: The New England Council issued its Deed of Registration in 1622, and Charles I reissued the Deed of Registration in 1639, then joined the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1658.
4- Massachusetts Bay Colony: incorporated in 1629, merged with the Colony of Belmouth.
5- County of New Hampshire: Founded in 1629 and merged with the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1641, and granted rights as a crown colony in 1679.
6- Connecticut Colony: Founded in 1639 with rights as a crown colony in 1662.
7- Cybrook Colony: Founded in 1635, and merged with Connecticut Colony in 1644.
8- New Haven Colony: Founded in 1638, and merged with Connecticut in 1664.
9- Rhode Island and Providence Plantations: Founded in 1636, with rights as a crown colony in 1663.
