Yes, there are stages of hypovolemic shock in which there are stages of blood loss as following :

  • Stage 1: there is a loss of 15% of the body blood (750 mL or about 25 ounces).
  • Stage 2: there is a loss of 15% to 30% of the body blood (750 mL to 1,500 mL or up to almost 51 ounces).
  • Stage 3: there is a loss of 30% to 40% of the blood (1,500 to 2,000 mL or up to 68 ounces).
  • Stage 4: there is a loss of more than 40% of the body blood (more than 2,000 mL or 68 ounces).
