This doctrine appeared in England during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I and flourished in the sixth and seventeenth centuries, and called for the abolition of dress and priestly ranks.

Their teachings are based on belief in the Bible as the only source of religious belief without taking the sayings of the saints and churchmen, and it states that it is the duty of a person to have his behavior in life in conformity with what is stated in the Bible.
