The quantity of milk that can come from both breasts for a pumping session is 0.5 to 2 ounces or 750-1,035 mL per day.
It differes according to the age of your baby and breast milk production timeframes as following:
- colostrum or early breast milk is thick and difficult to pump as babies don’t need very much colostrum.
- There will be more breast milk after 2-5 days.
- Then, the amount if breast milk will stabilize after about one month of age.
