Mamluks were a class of warrior-enslaved people who has Turkic origin from the Eurasian Steppe and first appeared in the Abbasid caliphate in the ninth century and served between the 9th and 19th century in the Islamic world by defeating the Mongols and the Crusaders and established a dynasty that lasted 300 years and ruled Egypt and Syria from 1250 until 1517.
