No, you shouldn't have to capitalize the word summer or any other season like winter or autumn because they're general nouns not proper nouns. But there is only one case in which the seasons of the year can be written in capital letters, it's when the name of a season is the first word of a sentence or they are part of a title
 or proper name .
ex:
the Summer Olympics
