Jellyfish tentacles contain microscopic barbed needles. Each barbed needle contains a small bulb that carries poison and a coiled tube with a sharp tip. When you touch one of these sensors, tiny stimuli on the surface of the barbed needles are released. The tube then penetrates your skin and releases the toxin.
