It is had known not knew, because after had , the verb comes in the past participle form, and it is known from know.

Example: He had known his name, before you told him.

It’s had known not knew, because the verb after had comes in the past participle form, and it’s known, not knew because knew is a  past tense.

Examples: He had known the truth, before he died.

He knew, that you didn’t go to school yesterday.
