The hormones which are responsible for ovulation are :

  • GnRH which secreted from the hypothalamus to stimulate FSH and LH release from the anterior pituitary.
  • FSH or follicle stimulating hormone which is responsible for stimulation of the growth of ovarian follicles in the ovary before the release of an egg from one follicle at ovulation.
  • LH orLuteinizing hormone which helps in egg maturation and stimulate hormones to cause ovulation and the release of eggs from the ovary.
