A given mass of a gas occupy 500cm³ at 25oC calculate the temperature in degrees Celsius and which it's volume become double at constant pressure.

solution:

initial state: V1=500 cm3, T1=250°C=250+273=532°K

final state: V2=1000 cm3.

at constant pressure according to Charles' law or Gay-Lussac's law

V1/T1=V2/T2

T2=(V2.T1)/V1=(1000*250)/500=500°C
