Yes, president would be capitalized if it comes at the beginning of the sentence, as a title of someone, or when it replaces the name of the president. It can’t be capitalized if it comes as a common noun to be a part of a sentence.

Examples: President of America is elected every 4 years. (comes at the beginning of the sentence).

the first president of USA was President Washington. (Title).

Here you are, Mr.President! (replaces the name).

I will meat the president next week (common noun).
