The normal heart rate for adult is between 60 to 100 beats per minute during rest.

But it lower to be closer to 40 per minutes in athletes due to better and efficient cardiovascular functions.

The normal rate of a person’s heartbeat should be between 60 to 100 beats per minute, and when the rate decreases with lack of movement, this is very normal and indicates the efficiency of the heart. As for any athlete only, his heart rate during rest periods is 40 beats per minute.
