Volcanoes are  formed as lava and ash eruptions when magma rises through cracks or fragile spots in the Earth's crust. Pressure builds up in the ground, through events such as plate movement that forces molten rocks to explode in the air, causing a volcanic eruption. Then the lava cooled to form a new crust
