Low blood pressure has many causes including :

  1. Anemia 
  2. Blood loss
  3. Addison's disease in which low adrenal hormones are secreted.
  4. Anaphylaxis which means a serious allergic reaction.
  5. Decreasing heart rate (bradycardia)
  6. Dehydration
  7. Diabetes or low blood sugar level.
  8. Hypothyroidism 
  9. Liver failure 
  10. Cardiac problem such as a heart valve problem, heart failure or heart attack.
  11. Parathyroid disease.
  12. Pregnancy.
  13. Septic shock after a serious infection.
  14. Postural hypotension.
  15. Standing up suddenly.
  16. Trauma or head injury.
