The vietnam war was about the north spreading socialism thus, the point was to forestall Communist
mastery of South-East Asia. In 1961, President John F. Kennedy, persuaded that Communist China was effectively supporting North Vietnam, affirmed a US military mission in Vietnam to help the patriot government fight off the Communist insubordination.
