Cactus adapt to the desert through many features that make it able to survive such as it's needle shaped leaves that are called spines which limit water loss .

this needle shaped leaves prevent Predators from eating the plant .

the stem of cactus contains destroyable water storage cells that can store water for long time  , the root system of cactus can absorb maximum water even during light showers .

Cactus also is covered with a thick waxy matter that helps conserve water and helps water from being evaporated by the desert heat
