Yes,the formation of a liquid solution involve a release of energy, for more clarification how and why read the following below
When the solution is formed, energy is needed to break the bonds among the molecules  inside liquid and solid. Energy should be infused at the ideal time to form the solution. As a result , energy is released as recent attractions form among solute and dissolvable.
