Clostridum tetani is a sporadic anerobic bacteria , it is the major cause of cases known by clinical tetani.

Transmission: No direct transmission between humans, Its popular way is transmission from soil and feces of animals to wounds of body.

Pathogenesis: In anerobic conditions in the wounds, spores germinate to produce toxin tetanospasmin which travel through blood and lymphatic vessels to affect lower motor neurons till reaching all cns. It acts by inhibition of neurotransmitters inhibitors making muscles in continuous contractions leading to severe muscles spasm( lock jaw) . It can cause death.
