Hashimoto's disease which is known as thyroditis , chronic inflammation of thyroid gland lead to gradual impairment of thyroid gland to produce thyroid hormones leading to gradual hypothyrodism. It is chronic disease, you can deal with it with lifelong medication.

mild cases may not required treatment and should repeat tests every 3 months.

moderate and severe cases take synthetic levothyroxine orally in appropriate doses to restore level of thyroxine hormone.
