Yes, quakers were protestants because  they were people who were divided into Protestant sects professing the Christian religion, and it was called an official name that was circulated among peoples all over the world, which is the Association of Religious Companions. There is also a group of them called Nontheist Quakers who hold different beliefs from the Christian tribes.
