The Monroe Doctrine is undoubtedly a military threat, and threats always have the psychological effect of making people distrustful of one another rather than friendly. Strangely, the threat of the Doctrine was expressed in favour of and for the security of South American countries while being directed at European nations.
The Old World and the New World should have separate areas of influence since they are essentially different, according to Monroe's message, which was mostly authored by Adams. For its turn, the United States would not participate in European politics or those of any European nations that already had colonies in the American Continent.

The American continents are no longer to be viewed as potential targets for colonisation by any European because of the independence and freedom status they have taken and uphold.
