No, Israel didn't win the 1973 war. The October War, also known as the Arab-Israeli War of 1973 or the Fourth Arab-Israeli War, was an armed war that took place between Israel and a coalition of Arab nations commanded by Egypt and Syria from October 6 to 25, 1973. While there was minor action in northern Israel and African Egypt, the most of the fighting between the two sides occurred in the Sinai Peninsula and the Golan Heights, both of which were conquered by Israel in 1967. Egypt's primary goal in the conflict was to win control of the Suez Canal's eastern bank and then use this position to pressure Israel to relinquish control of the remainder of the Sinai Peninsula. Egypt succeeded to defeat Israel and achieve its goal.
